Our Coaches

Stuart Janes

Athletics Coach

Hi I’m coach Stuart,
I’ve been involved with athletics coaching (running, jumping and throwing) for 8+ years.

With a focus on running based activities, I work with all ages and abilities, but predominately Junior and beginner/returning athletes.

I endeavour to create a training environment where all are able to reach their potential.

As a coach there is nothing more rewarding than see an athlete improve, be it complete their first lap of the track or improve their marathon time.

As a club athlete I’ve competed at most distances including marathon, with my favourites being 10miles and above, for which I regularly train.

Practical on going coach development is important to me, and I have been privileged to regularly attend training sessions run by national/international level coaches. This has included both observation and participation.

As with all NJ coaches, I’m fully licenced and insured by EA (England Athletes), and hold current current DBS and first aid certificates in addition to various coaching qualifications.

I can be contacted via the club web site, or track side most Tuesday and Thursday nights.

A short profile here…

Sianie Painter

Coach in Running Fitness

I started running aged 53 via NJ’s Beginner’s Group in 2018, and run regularly with the Club on training days and in league events. I qualified as a Run Leader initially to support other runners like myself,  then went on to attain the Coaching in Running Fitness qualification. I am currently nearing completion of the Event Group (Endurance) course.
I enjoy coaching skill-specific sessions (hill sprints on Warren Hill are a personal favourite), and also leading runs on trail routes, both local and further afield. I am happy to discuss training plans and strategies with anyone looking for some guidance, or attempt to answer your running-related questions.

P.S. My first name is pronounced “Shenny”.
