This year’s race will form part of the Suffolk County Athletics Association 2018 Grand Prix
We have named the race “The Marcus Gynn Newmarket 10k” in memory of our club mate Marcus Gynn who sadly passed away on 11th February 2016. This year we will be making a donation and raising funds for “Sarcoma UK” cancer charity.
This increasingly popular race has a beautiful undulating scenic route; it is ideal for both novice and experienced runners.
The chip timed race starts and finishes at “The Ellesmere Centre” Stetchworth CB8 9TS.
St John’s Ambulance will be providing First Aiders.

Please note this is an open road event, runners must follow the Highway Code e.g. stopping at road crossings if necessary.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Open
Male and Female 1st prizes for V40, V45, V50, V55 and V60+
Teams: Men’s team and Ladies team. (Determined by sum of places of first 3 to finish)
Junior Male and Female for U21
First U21 Male – Sean Harper Junior Cup
No runner to receive more than one individual prize.
Minimum age 15 years on the day.

Junior race at 9:30am
The Junior race is organised by laps around Stetchworth playing field according to age:
0-7 years – 1 lap (U8)
8-10 years – 2 laps (U11)
11-12 years – 3 laps (U13)
13-14 years – 4 laps (U15)
Entry fee is £3 per child.
There will be medals for all finishers and trophies awarded on the day to first girl and boy in each age category. Times and places for all entrants will be published on the website a few days after the event.
Advance entry is now closed for the Junior race, but there WILL be entries available on the day.
Number collection and entry desks will close at 9:15am sharp!
