Bertie Tweed sets new junior record in Lake District fell race

Up in the Lake District on Saturday, Jogger James Tweed and his two sons, Bertie and Archie, ran in the 2.8 mile Arnison Crag Horseshoe Fell Race in Patterdale. This is a beast of a route with over 1000 ft of climb to the top of Arnison Crag, followed by a tricky and rocky descent to the finish. James clocked 34:26, finishing 48th of 75 overall, while 17-year-old Bertie (also a Newmarket Jogger) came home in 26:50, finishing 11th overall and setting a new Junior U18 record for the race. Archie (representing Saint Edmund Pacers) also ran well in 33:38.
