Seven Joggers took part in the Kimbolton Castle Half Marathon on Sunday 18th August. Adam Maltpress was first male Jogger home in 1:43:25, from Miles Johnson (1:57:56), Oliver Stockmann (2:02:17 Year Best!) and David Crowley (2:19:54 YB!). For the women, Lynda McCormack (2:03:23 YB!) had a great run, her best half marathon time since 2015. Mary Marsh (2:17:45) and Caroline Mcintosh (2:27:29 YB!) also did well, with Marsh 3rd in her FV65 age group and Mcintosh achieving her best half marathon time this year.

Meanwhile, down on the Essex coast, Paul Dockerill recorded 1:41:39 in the Clacton Half Marathon, finishing a creditable 64th of 409 overall. Although a flat course, the SW wind sweeping along the promenade must have made for very challenging conditions.
On Friday evening, Neil Williamson (37:18) ran well in the Wortwell Sizzler 5 mile race near Bungay in Suffolk under rainswept conditions, finishing 42nd of 217 overall.
Although representing Newmarket Cycling & Tri Club on this occasion, Joggers Pearl Fay and Jan Holmes had great fun at the Lake Coniston Epic Swim in the Lake District on Sunday. They both swam the full ‘Ironman’ distance of 3.8K (2.4 miles), finishing in 58:53 and 1:50:12 respectively, in very choppy waters. Fay’s swim was particularly impressive, finishing 6th of 176 overall, 3rd of 76 female swimmers and first in her FV60 age category by nearly half an hour. That’s top swimming!
