The St Eds’ Running Festival was well supported by the Joggers on Sunday. In the 10K, Paul Dockerill put in a great effort to finish 4th of 405 runners overall in a PB time of 40:25, with Andrew Taylor (46:02) and Gillian Green (72:48) also performing well.
In the Half Marathon, Sam Sadler finished an impressive 11th of 222 overall in 1:31:49, with Giles Macrow (1:47:47), Miles Johnson (1:58:36), Lynda McCormack (2:10:15), Sara Brown (2:15:36) and Mary Marsh (2:25:33) also putting in great efforts, Marsh 1st in her FV65 age category.
In the St Eds’ 2K (approx) Fun Run, Junior Jogger Isla McCulloch clocked 8:58 and finished 3rd of 24 in her U11 age group and 4th of 46 junior female runners overall, including U18s as well as U11s, so shows great promise.
In the Dublin Marathon on Sunday, Chris Aylmer came home in 5:10:32, in a huge field of over 16,000 runners in ideal, cool, sunny conditions.
Last Wednesday evening, Chris Gay (18:31) continued in his purple patch of form with a first finish of 150 runners in the Festival of Sport 5K, a mad scramble of a race through Bury St Edmunds town centre. Lisa Jennings also ran well in 30:43.
