Friday saw the 6th race in the Friday 5 Mile Series. Several of the joggers took part, earning valuable points for the club. Neil Pollard -27.53 was first male Newmarket jogger to cross the line. This holds Neil’s 2nd overall position in the individual scores tables. His partner Hannah Pollard was first female Newmarket Jogger to finish in a personal best time of 33.34. Other club runners that added to the teams points were, Neville Clarke (34.22), Brian Munns (35.25), Jim Withers (41.10) and Svitlana Zinchenko (43.40). This places the Joggers as a club in 10th out of 39 in the overall league tables.
Grainne Brennan was flying the flag for the club in the Fen Gallop 10K. This scenic country route exploring Willingham and Cambridgeshire gave Grainne a chance to take 13 seconds off the last years female course record holder. Grainne was 2nd female home in an amazing 42.38, making her the 2018 female course record holder. Other joggers to take on the course in very hot temperatures were Richard Groom who crossed the line in an extremely respectable 51.57, and Caroline McIntosh who ran a PB of 1.09.48. Caroline had completed the Barrow half Marathon the day before.
