Newmarket Jogger Martyn Taylor joined with a friend to make a team for the 24hour race hosted by the Harwich running club. Martyn managed to complete 75 miles around a 2.5 mile loop over the time allowed. With only one member of the team allowed to run at a time, Martyn and his team mate accumulated 150 miles. This got them the award of 1st in the pairs category, setting a new record for overall distance in the event. This was Martyn’s first 24 hour run. An impressive result.
Hannah Pollard was 13th female home in the St Albans half marathon. This was Hannah’s first half marathon this year, after a return from injury, so her 1.36.40 time was most impressive. With over 2000 runners, Hannah’s time put her in 201st position.
Closer to home Clive Purbrook ( 48.32) and Jon Brooker ( 42.16) were in Ely taming the Sutton Beast! The 10K run is on its 12th year.
Caroline McIntosh joined the 1600 female runners at Nowton Park in Bury st Edmunds for the race for life. Caroline chose the 10k option which she completed in 1.14.00.
