30th April

The Brecklands in Norfolk were home to both a Marathon and half marathon mainly off road run. 2 of the ladies from the Newmarket Joggers crossed the line in superb positions in these runs. Nicky Chapman was 1st lady home in the half marathon, giving her 4th overall position. Nicky ran a time of 1.52 and Ursula White was 2nd lady across the line in the full marathon distance.
Henry Hamliton-Gould travelled a little further to run a half marathon in a Newmarket Joggers vest. Henry completed the Kentucky Derby in Louisville USA.
Many other club runners kept the distances a little shorter this week after the London Marathon. The new run local 2k and 5k run took place again on the Newmarket Heath again. Club runner Sam Sadler was first across the line having run a 5K at Impington and a 5K park run in the couple of days before. Lisa Jennings completed the 2K run alongside her dog – Dusty, who helped her round this undulating route.
Andrew Taylor completed 2 runs on the outskirts of Cambridge. First Andrew finished in overall 68th position, out of the 531 running the Childerely Hoo-hah. Andrew finished this 10k run in 50.46. Other club runners to finish this race were Clive Purbrook and Richard Groom. Andrew then went on to run in Milton a 9.3k run which he then finished in 51.45.
