The joggers have been running far and wide in this last week. Gaining medals around Europe. Henry Hamilton -Gould travelled to Brittany in France to run the “Mont st Michel” marathon. In the hot weather Henry still managed a 3.46.48 finishing time.
At the same time in Edinburgh unfortunately with not such good weather some of the joggers took on the Edinburgh Marathon and half marathons. Mike Sales ran a PB in the full distance, finishing in 4.07. Sarah Sales ran her very first marathon here and finished in an impressive 4.12. Isabel Vincent also crossed a line with a PB time. Beating her previous finish time by 6 minutes.
Lisa Winnington (2.12), Jeremy Reader ( 1.49) and Jamie Sales (1.24) completed the half marathon distance.
This week also saw the 2nd in the Kevin Henry 5k series. Nearly 300 runners from various clubs visited Witchford in Ely to compete in the 5k run. Newmarket Jogger Paul Holley (17.01) was first Newmarket Jogger over the line. He took over all 9th position. Neil Pollard ( 17.19) took 12th place gaining valuable points for the club. 1st female Newmarket Jogger home was Grainne Brennan (20.10). Alex Cairns (19.06) also put in an impressive run, returning from a long injury. Every runner that completed and crossed the finish line gained the club points towards the overall trophies at the end of the season.
Closer to home Svetlana Zinchenko ( 43.32) ran with nearly 150 runners to finish the Fen Ditton 5 miles and Henry Hamilton -Gould (44.46) and Clive Purbrook (49.39) ran with nearly 600 other runners at the Wimpole 10K.
