Easter running

Chocolate didn’t slow down the Newmarket Joggers in the last few days!
Andrew Taylor pulled a PB out of the bag when he completed the tough, undulating, 5 lap, 5K course at Fakenham. Andrew came home with his fastest time of 21.55.
Meanwhile Caroline McIntosh was busy knocking 15 mins from her previous half marathon time and completed the
Runfest Half at Waltham Abbey in 2.40.
Dave Price also came home with a PB after taking 5 mins off his time in the Bedford 20 mile race. Dave completed this run in 3.40.06.
This last week also saw the last in the Winter Cross Country League races take place. Very undulating Haverhill hosted the last in the series of 6 runs. Over 200 runners completed this 5 mile race. Newmarket Joggers had some great running. Mark Hayward was first Newmarket Jogger across the line, in overall 11th Place (30.49), closely followed by Ollie Daykin in 12th Position. Daisy Glover (31.52) was 1st female Jogger to cross the finish line. Many other club runners put in superb performances on this very muddy terrain including, Jamie Rule, Brian Munns, Clive Purbrook, Ruth Eberhardt, Jan Holmes, Mike Sales, Sarah Sales, Jenny Osbourn, Malcolm Osbourn, Jackie Hall, Jeremy Reader, Jim Withers, Giles Macrow, Meera Mahadeevan and Tony Garth.
This race added points to complete the series which put the Newmarket Clubs A teams in overall 3rd position. The B and C teams were all in the top 4. Paul Holley and Malcolm Osbourn won awards for being 1st in their individual age categories. Daisy Glover came 2nd in her age category , along with Jenny Osbourn and club runner Clive Purbrook came 3rd in his age category. A special well done is sent to Malcolm Osbourn, Jenny Osbourn, Clive Purbrook, Brian Munns, Giles Macrow, Mike Sales and Jim Withers who all completed all 6 of the cross country courses.
