This week saw the weather revert back to snow again. Unfortunately the snow and ice meant several races had to be cancelled. However a few runs still took place and many of the hard-core Newmarket Joggers put in some great running in very tough conditions.
Neil Pollard took first place in the Mud and Mayhem 10K Thetford Trail race with his time of just 38 mins. Hot on his heals was Clive Purbrook in 9th position. (50.18)
Paul Dockerill ran the Hampton Court Half Marathon and finished just 41 seconds outside the 1.30 time. On a snowy and windy date Paul put in a great run to achieve this personal best.
Bungay was home to another of the winter cross country series. Many Newmarket joggers joined the over 250 runners on this tough 5 mile run. Oliver Daykin was first male Newmarket Jogger across the finish line with a time of just 28.05. First female club runner to finish was Daisy Glover in 28.53. This put Daisy 3rd overall. Other club runners braving the weather and terrain to put in good performances were Greg Davis (29.50), Kate Warboys (47.08) and Jenny Osbourn (58.01)
Further afield in sunnier climes, Caroline McIntosh completed a 5K run on the Portuguese coast of Falesia.
