Many of the joggers were just outside Bury St Edmunds this weekend taking part in The Tarpley 10 mile and 20 mile runs. This icy cold day saw some solid ground for the runners and the sun continued to shine for the duration of the races. Mark Hayward (58.16) was 4th overall in the 10 mile run. 2nd Newmarket Jogger to cross the finish line was Robert Jaina (1.11.27) and first female jogger to finish was Nicky Chapman (1.12.39) From a field of nearly 350 runners the joggers put in some strong performances. Belinda Schofield (1.30.18) won the trophy for 1st female V60 category. Other joggers to complete the 10 mile run were, Kevin Connolly (1.14.06), Clive Purbrook (1.20.22), Brian Munns (1.23.12), Pauline Green (1.24.27) and Jim Withers (1.31.15). Joggers from the club that opted for the 20 mile run were Oliver Daykin (2.12.50) and Chris Aylmer (3.28)
Bethany Broughton tackled the Brighton half marathon and finished this her first ever half distance run in 2.13.37. Caroline McIntosh completed the Marriot Way Half Marathon trail in 2.49.36.
Much further afield in the sunshine club runners Henry Hamilton-Gould and Lisa Long ran the Seville Marathon. Henry crossed the line in a super time of 3.25.
