12k event
Newmarket Joggers were well represented at the Focus Recovery Race at Highwaymans Farm, Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 30th July. There was a 12k(which turned out to be 13k) and Half marathon over mixed terrain.Nicky Chapman had a great run in the 12k event and came home 9th overall and 1st lady in 58.02. Clive Purbrook was a solid support act finishing 2nd V60 in 1.04.27. Andrew Taylor came home in 1.37.40.
Half Marathon
James Thomson has made great strides this year and was rewarded with a top 10 finish in 1.35.23. Giles Macrow stormed home in a sensational pb of 1.44.50 and also scooped the 1st MV50 prize. Jeremy Reader ran well in a time of 1.46.28. Chris Aylmer was consistent as ever in 2.00.17. Caroline McKintosh ran superbly to be 2nd FV60 in 2.42.23.
Grim Reaper Ultra
Lisa Redman is a regular at the iconic Grimthorpe Estate for the Grim Reaper Ultra event. She took on the 40 mile solo version and came home in a 29th place in a superb time of 8 hours 19 minutes and 51 seconds.
