Calver Barracks near Saffron Walden was the home of the next run in the Kevin Henry Series for the local clubs. Newmarket Joggers were supported with 54 of its members crossing the finish line to gain the club more points. With only 2 runs left in the series the joggers females are still holding onto 2nd position, but have slipped into 3rd overall by just 2 points behind. Neil Pollard was first male jogger home in 16.59 with Paul Holley seconds behind with 17.09. First female jogger across the line was Nicky Chapman with her time of 20.19. Personal bests were achieved by club runners Robert Jaina – 21.49 and Caroline McIntosh – 31. 57.
Not letting the hot sticky weather put him off club member Andrew Taylor completed the Girton cross country 5k in 23.25 and then took part in the Grafham Water Challenge. Andrew completed 1 lap ( 9 miles) of the hilly course in 1.17. Caroline McIntosh ran the Willingham Fen Gallop 10k in 1.11 and Paul Dockerill took on the Southend Half Marathon, finishing with a PB of just 1.33.02.
