This week saw the return of the Kevin Henry 5k series. The first run was hosted at Impington by The Cambridge Tri Club. Over 300 runners from local clubs in Ely, Newmarket, Saffron Walden, Haverhill and Cambridge ran the wet and muddy course. Newmarket jogger Neil Pollard was 7th home with his finish time of just 17.19. Hannah Pollard completed with a personal best of 21.11. This was the first competitive 5k run for several of 2017 new recruits to the club. 50 of the joggers including these new members earned valuable points for the Newmarket Club. New runner Sonia Oriss managed a PB on this course, bringing her time down to 40.20.
Helen Wass completed the Fen Drayton 10k in just 52.28. This flat multi terrain course saw Helen come home with 3rd in her age group.
Ursula White did herself and the club proud with her first ultra run this weekend. Ursula ran 53miles around Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in Scotland. With over 800 runners Ursula was impressively the 44th woman home with a time of 11.18.06. The off road race with an elevation of 7.500ft put Ursula through her paces but her perseverance paid off with this fantastic achievement.
