Club on the up.

Firstly an amendment to the Cambridge Half Marathon results.  Pearl Fay in fact completed the run in her personal best of 2.23.00.  This was over 3 minutes faster than her previous times.  A late result of a personal best also from Richard Groom 1.53.18 also missed last weeks press.  However Richard taking 4 minutes from his previous runs is certainly worth reporting.

This week has seen another set of great runs from some of the Newmarket Joggers.

Bungay cross country was wet muddy running for some of the joggers. Steve Edwards, Clive Purbrook and Alan Shand all ran a good race for the club. Following in their muddy off road footsteps Newmarket Jogger Neil Pollard achieved 1st place in the Thetford Forest 10K Trail.  Neil completed the course in just 39.58.  Other Joggers in this race achieved 1st position in their respective age categories. Clive Purbrook crossed the finish line in 48.46 and Belinda Scofield completed in 58.14.  Completing the Cani 10K on the same thetford track Bee Chapman finished in 57.54.  Wiggo (Bee and Nik chapman’s dog) also put in a great run alongside Bee this weekend.  With some debate over whether he had paid his membership Wiggo couldn’t make it to the press, however more than deserves a mention on the News pages.  Well done Wiggo….and the rest of the Joggers for this weekends runs, certainly a club on the up.
