Cross Country running.

Despite bitterly cold, wet and miserable conditions the Newmarket Joggers joined with other Suffolk running clubs at Haughley park to compete in the Suffolk Winter League cross country 8k run. Club runner Denys Olefir did a fantastic run over the muddy rough terrain coming only 3 seconds behind the winner with a well deserved 2nd place. 30 of the Newmarket Joggers took part making up the 374 runners who braved the conditions.  Other flyers in the group included Mark Hayward 36.31, Greg Davis 37.39 and Martyn Taylor 37.42. Other runners included, Jon Brooker, Nicky Chapman, Jeremy Reader, Hannah Pollard, Neville Clarke, Arran Dennis, Clive Purbrook, Tony Garth, Helen Wass, Alan Shand, Zvitlana Zinchenko, Jackie Hall, Jim Withers, Malcolm Osbourn, Belinda Schofield, Chris Aylmer, Sally Nicholson, Lisa Winnington, Pearl Fay, Isabel Vincent, Jackie Henley, Jane Smith, Emma Townsend, and Jenny Osbourn.  Keith Page took a massive 6 minutes from his last years time, coming home with 64.50.  Carol Mckintosh also completed this run after having completed the Thorpe Forest Trail the previous week.
