Busy week for the joggers.

Haverhill were hosts to the penultimate of the Kevin Henry Series at Keddington this week.  43 of the Newmarket Joggers were part of the 261 that took part in this notoriously tricky 5K route.  With the rain just easing off before the race began it didn’t make the run up the hill any easier and made for a slippery decent.  This however was no problem for Newmarket Jogger Denys Olefir who came first in a time of just 16.33.
Denys then went on to come 2nd in the St Neots Riverside 10K this weekend with an incredible time of 34.50 which secured him 2nd position.
Several of the club then went on to compete in the Wibbly Wobbly 5 mile race through Thetford Forest on Friday evening.  Joggers team captains Brain Munns and Helen Wass led the joggers home with their times of 39.45 from Brian and 44.11 from Helen.  Fellow joggers, Jim withers, Chris Aylmer, Lynda McCormack, Malcolm Osbourn, Michelle Barnes and Mary Nash also complete the course.  Lynda and Chris recovered from trips over this multi terrain course but unfortunately Jenny Osbourn was retired with her injury.

To round the weekend off 4 of the joggers went further afield to Dublin to compete alongside  9881 runners to complete the Dublin Half Marathon.  Sophie Adams competed in 2.17.08. Jackie Henley 2.39.18, Keith Page 2.39.19 and Lisa Winnington in 2.19.05
Another great week of achievements.  Well done Joggers.
