What ever the weather the joggers run!

Torrential rain saw some of the joggers complete the penultimate of the Friday 5 series at Bury St Edmunds.  Neil Williamson, Brian Munns, Helen Wass, Jim Withers, Chris Aylmer and Sarah Sales battled the elements to bring home some superb times.  The final of the Friday 5 Series was completed last Friday in sunshine with many of the runners shaving even more time from their performances.  Paul Holley came 4th out of the 398 runners with his time of 26.58.  This put Paul as winner in his age group.  Neil Williamson 34.02, Neville Clarke – 34.06, Brain Munns – 36.29, Helen Wass – 40.10, Jim Withers – 41.05 and Chris Aylmer 44.27.
Lisa Jennings ran her first marathon and ultra marathon with her “race to the Kings” from Arundel to Winchester Cathedral which took place over 2 days.  Lisa completed the scenic course in 14.45.57.
Ruth Eberhardt was busy collecting her certificate for gaining the most points for the 2015/2016 park runs.  Ruth completed 42 park runs and volunteered on 3 occasions to give her 4300 points, making her the points winner.
The sun continued to shine on the joggers this weekend as they hosted the Newmarket 10K. This annual event sponsored by Tattersals and Musks  saw 14 of the joggers complete the Stetchworth mixed terrain run. Many other members of the joggers team gave up their time to help with organising and marshalling the event.   217 competitors took part of which Newmarket Jogger Robin Clifford came 8th overall with his time of 37.49.  Several other joggers came home with personal bests, including Jo Curtis with 58.43 and Gillian Green with 1.04.32. Some of the junior joggers joined in with 50 other junior runners for a fun run before the main event.
