Regular competition is what runners thrive on, but when you actually win a race it is special. Newmarket Jogger elite runner Neil Pollard was top of the podium at the Thetford Trail 10K last Sunday. We will here much more of Neil judging by his victory in 38.22.
Clive Purbrook has been campaigning far and wide since joining the ranks of the V60 category and was rewarded with a trophy for 1st V60 in 48.32. Hannah Pollard chose to leave her horse behind and chipped in with a fluent 52.43. Belinda Schofield also had silverware to collect in the V50 women in 55.00.
In a slightly unusual category, Newmarket Joggers chose canine assistance in the Cani Fun 10k. Ursula Ransom was 3rd with her “partner” in 42.40. Joanna Cole must have chosen a very slow dog as the elite female runner came home in 48.01. Bee Chapman, Newmarket Joggers answer to Barbara Woodhouse, was also going well in 56.06.
