NJ Round Up – 15th September

Langham 10K
Elite veteran Newmarket Jogger Paul Holley ran in the Langham 10k yesterday, a one lap route relatively flat with a few undulations around the villages on the Essex/Suffolk Border. 447 runners completed this competitive race, Paul finished 5th overall in a time of 34:46 and 1st Mv45. This was very satisfying as he was aiming for sub 35 and using it as a gauge to see what his current level of race fitness was. Carolynn Anderson, also building a series of races after injury, represent the female Joggers well in 54.55.
Kevin Henry 5K League Final Fixture(Cambridge & Coleridge hosts)

Thursday September 4th saw the final fixture of the 5K Kevin Henry League finish in style for the Newmarket Joggers. The venue was the Cambridge University sports ground, home of the host club Cambridge & Coleridge. Ursula Ransom was ranked best female performer for the whole series of races while Mike and Sarah Sales were voted best performers over the series for the Joggers. Newmarket were 3rd overall in the combined results. The men were 3rd and women 4th in their respective categories.

Many of the clubs elite runners were featured in the top 30, led home by the improving Sam Sadler in 17.23,​

​although special mention is reserved for Keith Page who, as a graduate from the January beginners Group, has sliced huge lumps from his 5K times over the Summer series along with many of our new members who must be looking forward to the forthcoming Cross Country season. Well done Keith!
