Great Bentley Friday 5 Series

Nik Chapman continued his stunning pb sequence when he turned out in the Friday 5 at Great Bentley. 35.01 over 5 miles was just the latest of a string of personal bests up to marathon distance. Neville Clarke, V60, provided great support finishing in 35.29.

Newmarket 10K Sunday 6th July.

Newmarket Joggers staged another highly challenging 10K race on Sunday 6th July. The undulations and mixed terrain certainly make this a worthy test to be incorporated in the Suffolk County Championships. Steady early morning rain guaranteed perfect running conditions, but did nothing to dampen the spirits of the marshals and supporters. A thrilling finish was fought out by Gavin Davies of Ipswich Jaffa and Andrew Mynott of Springfield Striders in 34.16 and 34.22 respectively. Although most of the Newmarket Joggers were putting a shift “backstage”, there was a healthy turnout in the race with a notable pb for Alex Cairns on his return from an injury that ruled him out of the London Marathon in April. Alex was well supported by vice chairman Marcus Gynn in 44.37 and Dave McLaughlin benefiting from his early morning training sessions in 45.25.
Other notable runs came from, Paul Dockerill  45.40, Manuel Marchi 47.24, Dave Cheese 48.47, Natalia allen 49.10, Jeremy Reader 53.50, Belinda Schofield 54.31, Svitlana Zinchenko 55.39, Kate Warboys 57.26, Lynda McCormack 58.13, and Gillian Green in 1.06.11
