Newmarket Joggers are obviously built for all weather running as despite the varying weather conditions the teams at Ekiden Relays in Woodbridge went down a storm (in more ways than one). The Joggers presented three teams in the relays: two males and one female. The Ekiden Relays, which are organised by Ipswich Jaffa Running Club and were hosted by Woodbridge School, had a record number of entries, with 157 teams running from various different clubs from around the area. Each team runs a total of 26.2 miles (equal to marathon distance) in 6 stages of different distances. Newmarket Joggers A Team (Robin Clifford, Chris gay, Martyn Taylor, Greg Davis, Paul Holley, Alex Cairns) came across the line in 2.35.54, finishing an overall 5th. Newmarket Joggers B Team (Justin Long, Charles Shoolbred, Neil Williamson, Jim Withers, Neville Clarke, Marcus Gynn) finished in 3.08.38, finishing in an overall 24th. Newmarket Joggers Ladies Team (Grainee Brennan, Lisa Redmond, Nicky Chapman, Isobele Vincent, Mandy Coleman, Clare Wylie) crossed the line in 3.19.51, finishing in 8th place in the ladies teams.
