Friday 5 Series (Nowton Park Bury) 20th June
The Newmarket Joggers were well represented in the ever popular evening Friday 5 at Nowton Park. Neville Clarke led them home and won his age group in 33.28. The course has a challenging climb in the first half before the reward of a long decent towards home. Neil Williamson and Marcus Gynn were hard to separate in 34.55 and 35.08 respectively. They were well supported by Mike Sales 41.05, Lynda McCormack 44.31, Claire Wylie 45.59, Mary Marsh 46.41, Sarah Sales 48.04, and Isabel Vincente 48.20.
Hackney Half Marathon. Sunday 22nd June.
When Ben Blowes races in London the results are usually good. So it proved once more in the inaugural Hackney Half Marathon. In very hot conditions, Ben lined up with 9651 other runners and finished 141st in a time of 1.26.25.
