The Stamford Striders St Valentines 30k race is known within the running circuit as being a notoriously tough race as it incorporates hills throughout the course which is based in Linconshire and weaves around local villages along an undulating route. Two Newmarket Joggers participated in the event on Sunday and used it as many of the other competitors would as a how-it-goes-run to review how Spring Marathon training is going as well as giving you some valuable tough miles in the bank. First home for the Joggers in 40th position overall, out of a field of 500 runners was Ben Blowes in 2hours, 2 minutes and 28 seconds, fellow Jogger Nik Chapman finished in 253rd position in at time of 2hours 28 minutes and 52 seconds.
