Framlingham XC 2010

The first Cross Country fixture of the league is always met with trepidation along with many excuses and reasons for not being able to run and Sunday was no different as the Joggers set off to tackle the mud, ditches and moat of Framlingham Castle.  However it was a case of a team of quality over quantity on Sunday with everyone putting in fantastic performances over the 3 lap mud ladden, course to score valuable points for the team.  First home was Vincent Coogan who has recently opened specialist running shop – Runablility in Bury St Edmunds which will be a runaway success if his shopkeeping is anything like his running.

Next home was Stephen Edwards who’d been at the venue since Thursday – keen as ever, followed closely by Brian Munns and Neville Clarke with Jason Beeton who continues to  improve with every race this year and completing the team line up was  Mike Sales who was running his first Cross Country and didn’t let the mud, bogs or pumpkins put him off to finish impresivley.   Ursula White led the ladies home in superb  style finishing 6th female overall with Carolynn Anderson next showing that work is desperately needed in her sprint finish.

The Juniors were also extremley successful and made a great start to their league campaign with 2 completing their first ever Cross Country race  – Hannah Grass who put in a brilliant finish (much better than her Senior female teamate!) and Peter Elsdon-Dean also running his first race finished strongly.  Charlotte Grass along with Charlotte Jones and Michael Bartrum also ran and put in strong and promising performances ensuring their team was rewarded with valauble points to start the league with a bang.
