Hot weather doesn’t hold back the joggers

Last week saw another of the Kevin Henry Series take place on Joggers home ground.  The 5K race took place around training areas of the local horses, with 301 runners taking part.  First male home for the joggers was Neil Pollard in just 17.29. Very closely followed by Mark Hayward- 17.51. The fastest 4 female joggers bought in much needed points for the club.  Grianne Neary-19.46, Grianne Brennan- 20.22, Nicky Chapman- 20.43 and Hannah Pollard- 20.51. Caroline McIntosh also came home with a PB.  This puts the club in overall 2nd position, only 13 points behind the leaders.  With only 3 races in the series left, there is everything to run for!
Neil Pollard and Mark Hayward didn’t stop there.  The 2 gents joined the 395 runners taking part in the 3rd leg of the Friday 5 series in Framlingham.  Hayward was 10th home in 28.37, with Pollard hot on his heels, crossing the line in 28.31.  10 other joggers took partin this 5 mile run. Steve Edwards, Neil Williamson, Neville Clarke, Hannah Pollard, Helen Wass, Jim Withers, Brian Munns, Chris Aylmer, Jo Curtis and David Blackstock.
The Hatfield 10k saw a PB for club runner Giles Macrow who braved the heat and finished in just 48.39.  Clive Purbrook and Alice Leadbeter also crossed the finish line
